Red Sea shark and pilotfish photo
TG0690-D. Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus), followed by many Pilotfish (Naucrates ductor). Pilotfish are semi-obligate commensal symbionts, associated with sharks, turtles, and other pelagic animals. Found throughout the tropics, pilotfish feed on leftovers from their host meals, as well as parasites and excrement. Oceanic whitetip sharks feed on wide array of bony fishes, cephalopods, mammals, even birds. Egypt, Red Sea.
