This lionfish, called the Red Lionfish or the Common Lionfish, is widespread throughout tropical Indo-Pacific oceans and now in the Western Atlantic and Caribbean too as a result of introduction. It is proving to be a very destructive invasive species as it is a voracious predator, and has no natural predators in the Atlantic and Caribbean. <br />
