Over 2000 ships have sunk off the North Carolina coast, an area often referred to as the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Storms and fog, pirates, and war have all taken their toll on passing ships. And a few, like the Spar, were sunk on purpose to create an artificial reef for scuba divers. North Carolina, USA, Atlantic Ocean.<br />
