RY1485-D. one large Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) in front of many Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka). The chinook, or king, has just spawned and will die shortly having completed its life mission. Its body is covered with fungi, it is blind and weak, but it has succeeded in passing on the torch to the next generation. Adams River, British Columbia, Canada.<br />
