TE0764-D. Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias), a 13 foot long adult glides through the water. Note the Pilotfish (Naucrates ductor) near the dorsal fin. Pilotfish are semi-obligate commensal symbionts, following sharks, turtles, and other pelagic animals. Found throughout the tropics, pilotfish feed on leftovers from their host meals, as well as parasites and excrement. Guadalupe Island, Baja, Mexico, Pacific Ocean.<br />
