TC4024-D. Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus), lifts tail flukes in preparation for a feeding dive. Feeds on krill and other small crustaceans such as copepods, swallows huge clouds of the tiny invertebrates and then strains out water by using the baleen plates hanging from top jaw. Found throughout the world in polar and temperate seas, usually solitary or in pairs though sometimes in large aggregations at feeding grounds. Pacific Ocean. <br />
